SAT 1PM – 3PM
Sacred Anatomy: The Transformative Journey of Samskaras

Samskaras (acquired subliminal impressions, habits) are at the root of our perception of the world around us.  They effect our thoughts, actions and reactions as we go about our daily lives.  The ultimate aim of yoga is to strip us of these “ filters” so that we may see ourselves and the world as it really is.  In this workshop we will explore what samskaras are, the ethno-centric understanding of their origin and the physiological basis for their presence in and around our bodies.
Topics to be covered include:

  • The physical mechanisms that allow for samskaric storage
  • The primary areas of samskaric holding
  • Pranayama, asana, mantra and marma chikitsa practices aimed at becoming aware of, engaging and processing long held samskaric patterns

This class is open to all levels.  Please bring a pen or pencil, notebook, mat and blankets as this is an educational, experiential class.
