Candice’s classes at the 2011 Flagstaff Yoga festival:
Align with the Divine: The 8 Limbs in Practice
The philosophy of yoga allows us to tap into the deeper levels of our being, enabling growth and expansion from the inside out. Learn to identify common psychological roadblocks that are holding you back on your mat and in your life. Experience the 8 limbs of yoga in action! (Mostly Asana).
Up and Over! Arm Balances and Backbends
Arm Balances ask us to conquer our fears, turn around our opinions and trust in our own strength, while backbends tap into the heart center and encourage expansion. By combining the two, you will experience the playful and adventurous sides of your practice. This is an intermediate workshop: Please be able to push up into urdvha dhanurasana (wheel) and kick up into handstand at the wall.
In the House of Ganesha
The koshas are levels of being in yoga, moving systematically from the spiritual center to the physical body. By uniting the understanding of the physical/anatomical body, the energetic body and spiritual understanding, the practice becomes richer and takes on more meaning. We will discuss the anatomy of the pelvic floor, the historical retellings of the various myths of Ganesh, explore the root chakra and its meanings and take these ideas into our practice. This workshop is open and appropriate to both men and women.
