about Don:
Compelled by questions of a spiritual nature since birth, Don Siclari. Jr has spent his life in pursuit of the balance and evolution through the warrior, spiritual, and healing arts. In his teens and early 20s, he had the incredibly good fortune to encounter teachers who could provide the lessons he sought. Don credits these mentors as having led him to become the person he is today.
At the age of 17, he met a martial arts master and began training in a Japanese warrior lineage that he continues to study and teach today. That same year, he was taken under the wing of a master life enhancement coach and was trained in neurolinguistic programming, hypnosis, and personal change technology for the next 8 years. That same year (yes it was an insanely busy and exciting year), he began a study of Traditional Chinese Medicine under a Doctor of Oriental Medicine (OMD) which led to a two year preceptorship.
19 was the year when he met the man who would become his root spiritual teacher – a monk in the Shingon school of Japanese Esoteric Buddhism who was resident in the United States at the time. Don continues to travel to Japan to study Shingon with his teacher and hosts a monthly fire ritual to share Sensei’s teachings with others. From the beginning, Sensei emphasized the importance of understanding both the material and spiritual realms as a journey towards a more centered, balanced, happy, and creative life. This was a quite a challenge for someone who was just about to begin his freshman year in college!
During his 20s, Don became firefighter and paramedic and began a financial company while studying at Miami University in Ohio. His path led him to Shinto, the nature based indigenous spirituality of Japan which merged beautifully with Shingon. He also earned certification in reiki healing and was led to a new mentor in Shamanism and energetic metaphysics. In 2008, he completed professional training in executive protection and security.
In 2009 Don was invited to join the advisory board of the Union Institute and University Center for Clinical Mindfulness and meditation – an organization pioneering the treatment of clinical depression with spiritual practices. www.myunion.edu/ccmc
Don sees himself as a student of life and truth. He continues to manage his business, (with the help of a very dedicated sister), further his studies, and coach others. The peace and harmony that results from balancing the material and spiritual aspects of life is what he seeks for himself and helps others find in their own lives.
