Malisa Bobbitt

Malisa Bobbitt's passion to share the benefits of yoga with her students shines through in her classes.

Her journey in Flagstaff began in 1991 when she left the glamorous world of being a Pan American flight attendant to begin her education at Northern Arizona University.  Her gypsy heart took her to Tucson, led her around the world for a ten month honeymoon, and drew her to several other locations, but she always boomeranged back to Flagstaff.  She now has settled into this mountain town and has two beautiful children, ages 6 and 9, with her husband of 14 loving years.

In 1999, when she graduated from NAU with her Master's degree in Multicultural-Bilingual Education, she began instruction at the local high schools.

Her love for teaching has expanded to yoga.  Although she practiced Anusara and Vinyasa Yoga locally for many years, when deciding to receive her certification, she chose to commute to the renowned Soul of Yoga in Encinitas, California.  There she received her training from her teacher, Tom Kelly, a monk of 25 years in Paramahansa Yogananda’s Self Realization Center.  Malisa’s comprehensive training also included teachings from many other qualified yoga instructors of several disciplines: Kundalini, Hatha, and ViniYoga.  Since certified, she has taught yoga to hundreds of students.

Currently, Malisa teaches yoga locally at Coconino High School and Northern Arizona Yoga Center. Her classes focus on the mind-body connection through postures and breathing.  Her goal is to provide a safe and harmonious environment to allow students an experience of deeper connection with self and higher energies. Her vision is to inspire students to take what they experience on their mats into their daily life.

Teacher training does not end with a 200 hour certificate. Malisa Bobbitt is consistently attending workshops, practicing in local yoga studios, and evolving on her own.  The journey is endless!!
