Yoga for Releasing Trauma and the Psoas
Trauma Release Yoga based on the work of David Berceli (TRE ) is a gentle effective technique that facilitates the lengthening and relaxation of the Psoas muscle to release physical and emotional tension, stress and trauma. Release of chronic muscular tension helps to relieve symptoms of sciatica, decrease other pains and tensions in the body, and so improves circulation and energy, producing a sense of relaxation. Through gentle shaking the nervous systems discharges long held tension or unconscious muscle contraction in to order to restore the body to wholeness.
The Journey Inward- Exploring the Koshas
The workshop explores the five layers that make up our experience of being alive from the modality of the Kosha Theory. The objective is to relieve pain and improve health by moving energy through the three bodies: physical, energetic and mind. The inward journey begins on the outermost layer- the physical layer -with Yin Yoga poses. As these layers dissolve bringing our awareness deeper and deeper into our bodies, it is possible to eventually reach the innermost core, our True Self.
Practitioners will gain understanding of their own and their clients bodies as a complex yet integrated layering of body, mind, and energy resulting in a balanced approach to health and treatment. Yoga is the tool to peel back these layers to bring our awareness deeper and deeper into our bodies, eventually reaching the innermost core, our True Self. When we can clearly see through the layers of the koshas we then attain a state of yoga, oneness with the universe.
The Amazing Spine
The workshop will focus on the anatomical structure of the spine. By understanding the structure and how it moves, we can adapt these principles to not only a yoga practice but to everyday activities. We will observe our unique postural habits and learn how to bring balance and stability back to our bodies so that we can move pain free with a healthy back.
